Templar One is the sole novel pertaining to immortal mercenaries, and is a continuation of the story of the non-capsuleer crew of a Drake-class battlecruiser, and their focused inability to stay clear of politics.
Templar One familiarizes the reader with the concepts and baseline reality of cloned infantry, but predates the adoption of the mercs by Mordu's Legion for study, as well as being before dropsuits were incorporated in the design.
The story revolves around the politics of the clone infantry, the ramifications of their use, and a last-ditch play by CONCORD to terminate the program in its infancy, never realizing that once the genie came out of the bottle, putting him back in is futile.
The book also includes a look at the Valklear infantry, and describes the attack of a Moros class dreadnaught on a planetary installation. There are some very interesting conventions between the book and it's prequels.
The hard one to read for me was actually "The Burning Life," which has no tie-ins to DUST at any point before or after. I found it hard because, bluntly, has the author killed all of the main characters, I would have cheered.
But I can recommend The Empyrean Age (predated immortal mercs) and Templar One in that order. If nothing else, you'll pick up on more of the cryptic -ass comments me and Aeon are prone to making.

hopefully someone has saved it... I saved them all. Stranded part 1-8, 514, sirens of fear and sense, and speaks and walks
These should be available on the EVE site if the lore sections are still available.

Shamarskii Simon wrote:Tbh, things like gunnlogi, incubus, etc cannot be "copyrighted" imho.
Cause they are names already... Incubus is a male lilin-demon (succubus is the female one)
Gunnlogi (Flame of Battle) is a name of a Viking's sword.
Onikuma is a Japanese mythological yokai...
Python is pretty obvious, same for viper.
Things of the ilk
All the names are borrowed already from historical/mythological or factual things... I don't think they can claim it as property?
Don't quote me on it...... It's just my honest opinion. I don't know for sure.
So would it really be plagiarism...? If you cite "hey, dust 514 gave me a few ideas"
The names themselves, no. The names in conjunction to the CCP artwork, stories and cooyrighted lore, are.
If, for example, you made a book and titled it "Gunnlogi" and it was off in your own little head-universe story it's not copyright infringement. Neither is their usage in a context of real-world legendry.
The instant you title the same story "Gunnlogi" and show the DUST tank, a caldari flag or other clear EVE/DUST assets on the cover art or in the story without permission from CCP, this means lore blurbs, story rips, or the usage of clear elements of New Eden, then yeah. It's infringement.
